I assumed Carti would lean into the Swamp Izzo mixtape vibe more because of the Lil Wayne homage he was doing in the rollout, but there’s still some songs that evoke the pastiche.
this write-up’s pacing hit like the album — chaotic, surprising, somehow cohesive. “maybe Future’s his new bitch?” had me howling.
also love how you clocked the I AM MUSIC sequencing — 30 tracks should be a chore, but this glides. wild how carti can shapeshift into 7 different rappers and still sound like him. only real letdown for me was that mid Travis run. too much cactus water, not enough vamp blood.
